Course Description:  This course will help students develop an awareness of one’s legal rights and obligations as a productive member of society.  Students are introduced to the study of law through a brief look at how law developed; the legal system in the United States; the function, organization, and work of the federal and state court systems; civil and criminal law, and the rights and responsibilities of young people, and basic contract law.
