Course Description:

 

During the first semester, students will strengthen their keyboarding skills for personal and business use; review and reinforce the alphabet, number keys, symbols and their applications; increase their speed and accuracy using proper techniques; and develop skills to include arranging, placing, and spacing copy in the formatting of personal business and business letters, memos, reports, and tables.  Report formatting will be taught including one-page, two-page, as well as multi-page documents with thesis statements, outlines, citations, and reference pages in the MLA style as required by all classes.

 

During the second semester, students will receive an overview of Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Students interested in these areas are then encouraged to take the full-year course.
