Course Description: 

Ninth grade English covers basic skills in five areas:  grammar, composition, literature, vocabulary, and research.  Grammar studies include a review of basic elements, mechanics, usage, agreement, phrases, and clauses. Composition includes sentence structure, paragraph writing, and paragraph revision. .  Literature study will be based on literary genre.  Vocabulary will be studied through weekly lessons.  Research/Library work will be done in conjunction with the librarian.
