Apply place value concepts (tens and ones) in counting, ordering, grouping numbers
Introduce number patterns, odd and even (0-20)
Compare sets equivalent to, greater than, or less than (<,>,=) (0-99)
Identify ordinal positions and written names (first-tenth)
Count and compare a collection of coins using quarters, pennies, dimes and nickels to and including 1 dollar
Recognize the inverse relationship between addition and subtraction using number families
Use pictures and concrete objects to construct and compare fractional parts of regions (1/2, 1/3, ¼)
Estimate, approximate or use exact numbers as appropriate

2. Students will apply computation and estimation skills in mathematical operations.
